new tricks
robomilk now has a new searching facility. instead of the old crawl-it search we now use sitelevel, the only downside to this is that you will get the occasional text ad mixed in with the results but it's much better that a great stonking green bar across the top and a layout i have no control over. the new search will be automatically reindexed every sunday at midnight, 4 times more often than before, and it'll generally look better.

also note. the search is not currently active as the site is yet to be indexed.
however this gives you the perefect oppertunity to check out our "no results found" page!

today-ed

more tests
everyone thinks so. and they are right to think that. there are too many exams in schools nowadays. less than 3 weeks ago i finished my sats and now i'm already doing more external exams. luckily i've already done 2/3 of them so that's alright.

"how many tests are sone in high school?" i ask myself
year 7 - entry cats, 3; winter assessment, 12; summer assessment, 5; other, 8.
year 8 - winter assessment, 13; summer assessment, 6; other, 10.
year 9 - winter assessment, 13; summer assessment, 6; sats, 7; other,10.
year 10 - gcse examinations, (varies according to curriculum but usually around 15).
year 11 - gcse examinations, (varies according to curriculum but usually around 15).

28 + 29 + 36 + 15 + 15 = 123

so the average english student will take approximately 123 major examinations during their high school life. please note this is not an official figure of any sort and is based on my own experiences.

bussin'
bus fares are too high nowadays. and now you need a pass to prover who you are. i'm not even 16 yet and they're already charging me adult fares even though i'm carrying a whole bag of stuff that has my age. and a copy of my birth certificate. but that's not alright because it's not a pass. bloody hell.

common-vision

what it says up there ^^^
if you live in europe then you should have watched the eurovision song contest. and that got my thinking, what if there was one for all of the british commonwealth! just think of all those countries coming together to battle it out for the title of winner of the common-vision song contest!

there won't be any of the political voting strategies because all the countries are allies with one another. it's perfect! the only downside is flying everyone out to australia if they win.

feeling wet, wet, wet

and no, this post has noting to do with the band

the weather - explained
wondering what the hell the title is on about? well i'll tell you. here in good ol' eastern lancashire it is absolutely chucking it down. whence leaving the place where i spend 6 hours every weekday it was raining. in the three minutes it took to run to the bus stop at the bottom of the street i was soaked to the skin - literally

i could easily grab handfuls of my clothes and squeeze out bottles of the wet stuff. upon waiting a few minutes i boarded. the only thing the driver could say - "you look a bit damp"

after a few stops i got a seat (i'd been dripping whilst standing up for a few minutes by now); a few stops later it stopped raining; a few stops after that and the sun actually came out. after getting off it started raining again - not as bad as before - but still raining

right now it's raining. and the occasional rumble of thunder hits the distant skies.

flashed
i'm currently learning flash animation. prepare for some nonsence to do with the end of the world - coming soon.

alert!

there will be some testing on the blog in the next few hours. so the layout of the blog may change and anything could happen. you have been warned.

i have finished the testing on the blog. it didn't work out, but i left you a screenshot of what this blog could have looked like....

apprentice
ruth "the badger" badger lost the apprentice. it was a great show. with ups and downs every ten minutes....

choosing the teams
ruth: stronger team, all good at what they do
michelle: team with many conflicting personalities

ideas
ruth: comes up with original but somewhat lame idea
michelle: takes words straight out of sir alan's mouth, but is a popular idea

ticket sales
ruth: manages to sell about 69 of 80 tickets in first 36 hours
michelle: manages to sell only 11 tickets in first 36 hours

consistency
ruth: keeps changing ideas and views on what to do
michelle: sticks to one idea and ploughs on with it

the event
ruth: night appears to go well but mystery/murder theme confuses guests
michelle: 007 night with dancing girls and diamond auction goes down a storm

boardroom
ruth: gets general good reviews. team makes most profit altogether
michelle: sir alan says he only has a "gut feeling" on why he should hire her

boardroom - arguments
ruth: "i am the apprentice for the following reasons: i'm an all-rounder, i've got a lot of skills, i'll increase your productivity and increase your revenue."
michelle: "i will learn from what you teach me and deliver very strongly and passionately for your businesses i'll be a good resource for you."

comment
ruth: possibly her biggest downfall was because she couldn't remain consistent with her ideas and also claimed in the boardroom that "she cannot be moulded" or something along those lines. being an apprentice is about being moulded into the perfect business person. not applying the same skills somewhere else.

michelle: also known as "the blonde". she struggled to manage her team and came in with the lowerst profit margin, but managed to put on an evening that was enjoyed by all - including sir alan.

experiment
today i made metephorical history as i took part in the first ever official ict sats test. the test is split into 2 sessions, each 50 minutes long. i literally finished as time ran out (really! i saved the very second the timer hit zero). i am not allowed to tell you more. i even got a big piece of paper saying "strictly confidential"

pinstiped teen
upon waiting for a bus today i but approaced upon a man. but he was acting like some kind of teenager. he was smoking a cigarette, loudly listening to an mp3 player and... he was slouched over. he also had a haircut a 15-year-old would find stylish. but the only way you could tell this person wasn't a teenager was that he was wearing a pinstriped suit. and he had a beard....... talk about freaky wednesday

apprentice
the apprentice finishes tonight. go ruth badger! w00t!

cloud pie

flicked off
i have already got bored of flickr and how difficult i find it's organisr to use. and i had nothing to put on it anyway. all arty pics and stuff will now be on my deviantart account where it shall get more publicity.

to the point
and now to the title of the post. my signature dish, "cloud pie" has been a long kept secret to all but a few for nearly a month. but now i'm going to share it with everyone who cares to visit my blog.

ingredients
potatoes
milk
butter
cheese (optional)

what to do
1. peel the potatoes
2. slice them in half
3. boil them until you can easily stick a fork through them
4. this is the essensial step. using a fork mash each individual potato (still in the pan) until they're well mashed. then get the fork and start whisking the potato. add the margerine. continue whisking. add the milk at intermittent stages maybe every couple of minutes. you can also add the cheese here if desired. continue whisking until all the milk and butter has been mixed in and the potato has the similar consistency as some sort of paste.
5. serve. if done preperly then it should be a tasty and alternative to regular mashed potato with a more smooth texture. :)

wordpress
i have decided against moving to wordpress as it will be harder to update my blog at school (wordpress is blocked by filters whilst blogger isn't) and also it would take quite a few hours to import the masses of posts already put online
» http://www.blogger.com/

changing the way my blog is done, forever
i have again slightly altered the layout of posts in the blog. for one, posts will now have just a simple, sum-everything-up-in-one-go title (e.g. saturday), and this will be split up into smaller sections. saving server space without having multiple posts on one day. and any relevant links, instead of having their own little section, will be posted directly below the relevant post.

and i'll probably end up putting some completely irrelevant image somewhere too
